Volunteers are an essential part of the Jackson R-2 School District. Volunteers enhance the efforts of staff members by working with students, helping with school activities and assisting with clerical duties. Jackson R-2 volunteers are part of the school team and enrich district activities by increasing productivity and effectiveness.

Volunteer activities include direct interaction in the classroom, including listening to students read, providing individual assistance to students, and assisting with class activities. Volunteers are also needed for indirect interaction such as copying materials, assisting with classroom or school decorating, and helping prepare activities for students. Volunteers may also assist by working on projects at home. Examples include, cutting bulletin board materials, preparing materials for a class activity and tabulating book orders.

Before volunteering, individuals must complete a VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

VOLUNTEER HANDBOOK

A Missouri Request for Child Abuse or Neglect/Criminal Record form will need to be completed if volunteers are interested in working directly with students. Once all paperwork has been processed, volunteers will be given an assignment. BACKGROUND CHECK FORM

Imagination is the only limit to a volunteer's involvement. By sharing ideas, talents, and skills, volunteers make a difference in the lives of students in Jackson R-2 Schools.
